Harvest Picnic Day

To celebrate the harvest season and as part of the State Sustainable Living Festival, we welcome you to join our Harvest Picnic Day, at Greenhood Organic Farms, 209 Curdievale Road, Timboon.

Guided tours will set off at 10.15am, to provide an overview of the property, with a presentation on Greenhood Organic Farms, the various aspects, benefits and opportunities of this organic agricultural and sustainable living venture. Greenhood landholders will be happy to discuss their journey so far and answer any questions in regards their herb growing experiences. Displays and full sales information will be available on the day.

Upon everyone’s return, we will commence the days harvest activities, from hand picking Calendula flowers, harvesting leaf crops and demonstrating herb drying and processing equipment and techniques.

The day will provide an unique opportunity for anyone interested in becoming an organic herb or food grower.

BYO; picnic and work boots and sun hat.

Those interested in learning  about organic dried herb production and the Southern Light Herbs growers network, we will be holding our Introduction to Commercial Herb Growing Workshop at Greenhood Organic Farms on a date to be confirmed.

The day is designed to provide a full insight into the herb industry in Australia, herb growing techniques including propagation, harvesting and processing, how Southern Light Herbs operates, why the Greenhood Organic Farms project is needed and how we can assist its success.

The cost of the workshop is $95.00 /person or $165 per couple.
